His descendants spread out all over the world. My own line stayed in the Taunton area, settling on the outskirts in the towns of Middleboro and Lakeville. These are 2 very pleasant towns located in southeast Massachusetts. Still mainly farming communities, both rich in history. Many of the residents of this area worked in the shoe factories. Though it doesn't exactly sound glamorous, shoes from these factories were shipped all over the world.
Caswell's can be found in all of the wars. My 5th-great grandfather, Abraham Caswell, was in the Revolutionary War. A cousin, Washington Irving Caswell, was in the Civil War in the Cavalry. Caswell's can be found in the Spanish-American War, WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Let's hope they do not need to be found in any future wars.
I dedicate this page in memory of my grandparents, Blanch & Henry Caswell. My grandmother nurtured my enthusiasm for genealogy and the pride I feel when doing research on my family. I was priviledged to spend 2 special years caring for my grandfather. He passed away at the age of 88 but without realizing it, passed down to his family his pride in our heritage. He was involved in many social organizations, loved to fish and loved people and life. It was very difficult for him in his elder years to not be able to go out and be among his friends and family. I know one day when I cross over, they will be there waiting for me and I look forward to being with them again.
Throughout these pages you will see different images, backgrounds, setups, etc. This is a reflection of me! I love making webpages and it is a way to express myself. I try to give credit where credit is due. If you see any graphic on my site that is original to elsewhere that I haven't acknowledged, please let me know so it can be corrected.
